This is a hybrid role, with one day working from home and four days working in community and office settings.
Five permanent vacancies – Greenwich / Woolwich
Two permanent vacancies – Bromley / Beckenham
These roles are embedded within Community Mental Health Teams and the Mental Health Hub, working closely alongside healthcare professionals and Mental Health Advisers.
You will manage a caseload of around 20–25 people with mental health needs who want support to move into employment. Typically, this will involve:
1-to-1 coaching and employment support, helping people with their job search. This could include CV writing, interview preparation or discussing reasonable adjustments they may wish to request from an employer.
Proactive employer engagement. An important part of the role is meeting local employers face-to-face each week, building relationships and identifying suitable employment opportunities for the people you support.
Working in partnership with clinical teams to support each person on their employment journey.
Providing tailored in-work support once someone starts a job, including liaising with employers where appropriate.
The challenging bit? This is a very target-focused role, with a fair amount of compliance and administration. One of the toughest parts is being comfortable proactively approaching employers, including cold approaches, to build relationships and uncover opportunities. You will therefore either have experience of this already or be genuinely comfortable with this element of the role.
If you have previously worked in recruitment, employment support or sales and want to use those skills to make a genuine difference, this could be a really good fit. It could suit an Employment Advisor, Recruitment Consultant, Sales Executive or someone from a similar background.
