How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Panel Wirer Salary: up to £35k Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

    We are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Panel Wirer to join an established engineering and manufacturing business.

    This is a hands-on role for an experienced professional who can confidently work from electrical and manufacturing drawings and complete panel wiring and assembly to a high standard. You will need to be able to hit the ground running, with previous relevant experience essential.

    The Role

    Working as part of the workshop team, you will be responsible for the wiring, assembly and fitting of industrial electrical equipment.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Wiring and fitting switchgear, switchboards and distribution boards
    Wiring and fitting electrical components
    Panel wiring and assembly
    PLC wiring
    Fitting and installing copper busbars
    Working accurately from manufacturing and electrical drawings
    Measuring and marking out accurately to drawings
    Using a range of hand and power tools
    Offloading and moving panels into position within the workshop
    Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised workshop environment
    Ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately and to the required quality standards

    About You

    Previous experience in electrical panel wiring is essential. We are looking for someone who is already competent in this type of work and can work with minimal supervision.

    You will need:

    Proven experience in panel wiring or a closely related electrical assembly role
    Experience wiring switchgear, panels, distribution boards or similar equipment
    The ability to read and interpret manufacturing and electrical drawings
    Excellent attention to detail and pride in your workmanship - essential
    The ability to accurately measure and mark out to manufacturing drawings
    Good practical skills and confidence using hand and power tools
    The ability to work independently and as part of a team
    A full UK driving licence - essential

    The Ideal Candidate

    You will be a practical and experienced electrical assembler/panel wirer who understands the importance of accuracy, quality and safe working practices.

    You should be confident working on your own, able to interpret drawings without extensive supervision and capable of identifying and resolving routine issues as they arise.

    This is not a trainee position. Previous hands-on panel wiring experience is essential, and candidates will be expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of the work involved.
