How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    EXPERIENCED VEHICLE DAMAGE ASSESSOR / VDA
    Location: Leeds
    Salary: Up to £45,000 Depending on Experience
    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
    Hours: Monday - Friday - 08:30 - 17:00

    THE ROLE
    As an Experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor / VDA, you will be responsible for accurately assessing accident-damaged vehicles and producing comprehensive repair estimates that reflect the correct repair methodology, labour requirements and parts needed.

    You'll be a vital link between customers, insurers and the bodyshop production team, ensuring repairs are correctly identified from the outset and helping vehicles move efficiently through the repair process while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service.

    Key Responsibilities:
    ·Inspect and accurately assess accident-damaged vehicles, identifying all visible and potential repair requirements
    ·Produce detailed and accurate repair estimates using recognised bodyshop estimating systems
    ·Identify the correct repair methods, labour times, replacement parts and associated repair costs
    ·Liaise effectively with customers, insurance engineers and work providers regarding estimates, authorisations and repair requirements
    ·Work closely with the Bodyshop Manager, Workshop Controller, Panel, MET and Paint Technicians to ensure accurate repair planning
    ·Manage supplementary estimates and additional damage identified during the repair process
    ·Ensure estimates comply with manufacturer repair methods, insurer requirements and bodyshop quality standards
    ·Maintain accurate records while helping to achieve efficient vehicle throughput and excellent customer satisfaction

    ABOUT YOU
    We're looking for an experienced and technically knowledgeable Vehicle Damage Assessor who understands that an accurate estimate is fundamental to a successful, profitable and efficient vehicle repair.

    ·Previous experience as a VDA / Vehicle Damage Assessor / Bodyshop Estimator within an accident repair centre or bodyshop environment
    ·Strong knowledge of modern vehicle construction and accident repair methodology
    ·Confident assessing Panel, MET, Paint and structural repair requirements
    ·Experience using recognised bodyshop estimating systems
    ·Ability to accurately identify parts, labour operations and repair requirements
    ·Strong understanding of manufacturer repair methods and industry standards
    ·Experience dealing with insurance companies, engineers and work providers
    ·Excellent communication and customer service skills
    ·Strong attention to detail with a methodical and commercially aware approach
    ·Ability to work effectively within a busy, fast-paced bodyshop environment
    ·ATA / IMI VDA qualification advantageous
    ·Full UK Driving Licence preferred
