The Role:
You will be delivering tailored learning support either one-to-one or in small groups to students EAL, SEMH and ASD.Tuition may take place in a variety of settings, including educational provisions, community spaces such as libraries, or within the pupil’s home.
Due to the individual nature of each referral, specific details will be discussed at the next stage of the process. The local authority is looking for tutors who are available to begin immediately, with a full-time workload available monday to friday.
The Ideal Candidate:
We welcome applications from SEN Tutors, Teachers, HLTAs, or LSAs who have:
Proven experience tutoring students on a 1:1 or small-group basis
Confidence working independently in home or community-based settings
Strong ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and families
Excellent knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum
A creative and flexible approach to adapting learning materials
Experience supporting learners with SEMH, ASD, or other SEND needs
An undergraduate degree and/or substantial experience working with SEND pupils
Good general education in English and Maths
A strong understanding of a range of learning difficulties and behavioural needs
The ability to adapt to different learning environments and student abilities
A caring, patient, and practical approach to supporting learners
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Flexibility around working hours and locations
