As part of Orbis Education and Care, Priority Childcare provides specialist support to young people who may have experienced childhood trauma, face mental health challenges, or both. A day in the life of a Support Worker at Blaen Y Waun:
Supporting children and young people’s emotional and physical needs in a safe, caring environment.
Acting as a positive role model, encouraging independence and confidence.
Supporting with school, social and work-based activities, as well as community outings.
Tailoring support to meet individual needs and development plans.
Recording progress, activities, and any incidents clearly and accurately.
Helping with everyday tasks such as meal preparation and general household duties.

What you’ll need as a Support Worker at Blaen Y Waun:
A compassionate, resilient, and caring nature.
A valid driving licence (essential).
Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Previous care experience is helpful but not essential – full training is provided.Please note: This role involves regulated activity with children and requires an Enhanced DBS with a barred list check.
