Robert Half Talent Solutions are seeking an Operational & Management Accountant to join a SME manufacturing organisation near Llanelli.
The operational Management Accountant will be responsible for:
Stock & Inventory Management (Integrated with Reporting)
- Valuation & Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations between the Inventory Sub-ledger and the General Ledger.
- Margin Integrity: Investigate discrepancies between theoretical and actual margins, focusing on stock waste, scrap, and re-work costs.
- Provisioning: Present monthly reports on stock to the Senior Management Team
System and Process Improvements
- Reporting Automation: Transition manual monthly reporting into automated BI tools or ERP dashboards to reduce the month-end cycle time.
- Data Integrity: Audit the flow of data from warehouse into the management accounts to ensure "one version of the truth."
Monthly Management Reporting
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end process for the manufacturing entity, ensuring all journals, accruals, and prepayments are posted accurately and on time.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare the monthly Management Accounts pack, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
- Variance Analysis: Provide high-level commentary on actual vs. Budget performance, specifically highlighting gross margin fluctuations driven by production costs or inventory movements.
- KPI Development: Define and track operational KPIs (e.g., Gross Margin by product line, Labour Recovery rates, and Stock Turnover).
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Operational Budgeting: Partner with Production and Warehouse Managers to build annual budgets and quarterly rolling forecasts.
- Cash Flow Management: Forecast inventory spend and lead times to ensure optimal working capital levels.
Refined Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Strong background in Operational Accounts within a manufacturing or recycling organisation.
- Commercial Acumen: Ability to explain the "why" behind the numbers to the Department Heads.
- Technical: Proficiency in advanced Excel for data visualization of monthly trends and a desire to improve and automate systems.
On offer: Salary to £55,000 plus PHI and pension
