The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We’re recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join a specialist engineering manufacturer in Kirkbymoorside.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being close to the product — inspecting fabricated, machined and assembled components, working from engineering drawings, supporting supplier quality and keeping quality documentation accurate and up to date.
You’ll be involved across the full build process, from incoming goods and work in progress through to final inspection and certification packs.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Inspecting machined, fabricated and mechanical components against engineering drawings.
* Carrying out dimensional, visual, weld, paint and assembly inspections.
* Using measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges.
* Supporting supplier quality activity, including supplier visits and audits.
* Raising and managing NCRs, corrective actions and quality documentation.
* Supporting ISO 9001 audit activity and continuous improvement.
* Preparing certification packs and quality records for completed builds.
* Working closely with production, engineering and supply chain teams.
What We’re Looking For
* Quality inspection, quality control or quality engineering experience.
* Background in engineering, manufacturing or complex component environments.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
* Experience using manual measuring equipment.
* Understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems.
* Good problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
* Confident communicator with a practical, proactive approach.
* Full UK driving licence.
Useful Extras
* HNC/HND or degree in Engineering.
* Internal auditor experience.
* Knowledge of ISO 14001 or ISO 45001.
* Lean, 5S, Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience.
* Experience with ITPs, quality plans, NCRs and certification packs
