Role: Production Team Manager - Fresh Produce Packhouse
We’re looking for a driven, hands-on Production Team Manager to join our fast-paced fresh produce operation, leading the packing of fruit and vegetables to the highest quality and efficiency standards.
This is a key shop floor role, responsible for overseeing daily operations across netting machines and hand pack stations, ensuring all products are accurately graded and packed to customer specifications for quality, weight, and presentation.
People management is at the heart of this role. You’ll lead, motivate, and develop teams, setting clear expectations and driving consistent performance across the packhouse. From onboarding and training to maintaining high standards in grading accuracy and packing quality, you’ll create a productive and accountable team environment.
You’ll take ownership of performance on shift, monitoring throughput, waste, giveaway, and labour efficiency, and taking action to improve output while maintaining product integrity. With an analytical approach, you’ll work closely with the planning team to ensure stock levels are aligned to demand, avoiding both shortages and unnecessary stock loss in a short shelf-life environment.
Working closely with QA, Warehouse, and Supply Chain, you’ll ensure smooth product flow and quickly resolve any operational challenges.
You will also support your manager in driving the department forward, contributing to strategic improvements, process changes, and new implementations to enhance overall performance, efficiency, and capability of the operation.
With a strong focus on food safety, hygiene, and traceability, you’ll play a key role in maintaining compliance and ensuring products consistently meet customer expectations.
This is a hands-on, fast-moving role where success comes from balancing quality, efficiency, stock control, continuous improvement, and strong team leadership in a fresh produce environment.
