The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
The Procurement and Contract Assistant supports the effective sourcing, purchasing, and contractual management of goods and services required for calibration operations. The role ensures that equipment, calibration standards, subcontracted services, and consumables are procured in a timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner, while maintaining accurate contract records and supporting supplier relationships in accordance with quality, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
About the Role•Raise and process purchase orders in line with approved budgets and procurement procedures
•Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, ensuring technical specifications and calibration requirements are met
•Support the preparation, review, and administration of supplier service contracts, including calibration service agreements, maintenance contracts and business overheads
•Track orders, deliveries, and lead times to support operational planning and minimize downtime.
•Build relationships with new and existing suppliers including face to face meetings
•Setting up supplier SLAs (Service Level Agreement), developing and maintaining Supplier Score cards
•Developing tiers of approved suppliers
•Maintaining supplier database to reduce new and unapproved suppliers
•Maintaining the supplier NCR (None Conformance) procedure for complaints
•Working closely with the customer to understand and fulfill their requirements and attend regular meetings
•Ensure procurement activities comply with internal quality procedures and customer requirements
•Delegation of Authority Audits
•Liaise with internal departments (laboratory, quality, engineering, finance) to ensure needs are clearly defined and fulfilled.

Requirements
•Must hold a full UK driving license with ability to travel across the UK when required
•Technical purchasing experience with the ability to assimilate technical information
•Excellent understanding of purchasing practices and managing suppliers
•A proven track record in developing a good working relationship with suppliers
•Preferred, MCIPS qualification or working towards
•The ability to work independently and part of a Team
•Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
•Experience of working with minimum supervision in a busy and demanding environment.
•Proven organisational skills and able to perform multi tasks efficiently and in line with specific time lines
