We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Pastoral Worker to join a supportive Alternative Provision setting in Chapel-en-le-Frith. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who require additional emotional and behavioural support.
The Role
As a Pastoral Worker, you will play a key role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom. You will help promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, engagement in learning, and personal development.
Your responsibilities will include:
Building positive and trusting relationships with students
Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
Managing behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
Providing mentoring and pastoral support on a 1:1 and small group basis
Working closely with teachers, safeguarding leads, and external agencies
Encouraging attendance, engagement, and confidence
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
Calm, resilient, and adaptable
Experienced in pastoral, youth work, behaviour support, mentoring, or education settings
Able to build strong professional relationships
Confident managing challenging behaviour positivelyExperience within Alternative Provision, SEMH, youth work, care, or mentoring is highly desirable, but transferable experience will also be considered.
