The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Tier 2 Main Contractor for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a portfolio of high-value Mechanical & Electrical and Industrial projects while benefiting from a predominantly home-based working arrangement.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple projects, working closely with project teams to ensure financial performance, contractual compliance, and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the commercial aspects of multiple M&E and Industrial projects from inception through to final account.
* Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
* Administer subcontractor procurement, payments, and final accounts.
* Prepare, submit, and negotiate client valuations and applications for payment.
* Manage variations, compensation events, and change control.
* Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
* Ensure contractual obligations are met under the relevant forms of contract.
* Produce accurate monthly commercial reports and forecasts.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
* Support the Commercial Manager with project reporting and business performance.
* Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team where required.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) and/or Industrial construction sectors.
* Strong understanding of commercial management throughout the project lifecycle.
* Experience administering NEC and/or JCT contracts.
* Excellent knowledge of subcontract procurement and account management.
* Strong financial reporting, forecasting, and CVR experience.
* Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
* Commercially driven with strong attention to detail.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to London (approximately four days per month) and Middlesbrough (approximately one day per month).
Desirable
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
* Membership of RICS, CIOB, or working towards professional accreditation.
* Experience delivering data centre, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, industrial, or large-scale M&E projects.
