Mechanical Construction Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join a leading MEP contractor delivering major, technically complex construction projects across London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased construction professional to take a leading role in the on-site delivery of large-scale mechanical building services packages. You will work closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team to ensure works are completed safely, to the required quality standards and in line with the agreed programme.
The role will involve managing mechanical installation activities across major commercial and technically demanding developments.
The Role As Mechanical Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of mechanical building services works on site.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing and coordinating mechanical installation works on site
Leading Mechanical Supervisors, Site Managers, Engineers and specialist subcontractors
Planning and coordinating labour, materials, plant and equipment
Monitoring progress against the project programme and managing key delivery milestones
Reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications, installation information and construction sequencing
Coordinating mechanical works with other MEP disciplines, the main contractor and wider project teams
Attending site coordination, progress and planning meetings
Identifying and resolving installation, technical and programme issues
Monitoring productivity, quality and progress across mechanical work packages
Ensuring all mechanical installations are completed in accordance with project specifications and quality standards
Managing inspections, testing, commissioning activities, snagging and project handover
Supporting the Project Manager with programme updates, resource planning and project reporting
Ensuring all works are carried out in line with health, safety and environmental requirements About You The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager, Mechanical Site Manager, Mechanical Installation Manager, Mechanical Supervisor or Mechanical Package Manager
Experience managing mechanical building services installations on major construction projects
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, pipework and public health services
Experience managing site teams, subcontractors and specialist suppliers
A strong understanding of construction sequencing, coordination and programme delivery
The ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and technical information
Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
A proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused approach
Relevant mechanical or building services qualifications
SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications would be advantageous What’s on Offer
