A modern, growing accountancy practice is looking for an enthusiastic Junior Bookkeeper to join its friendly team. This role is perfect for someone building a long‑term career in practice, with opportunities to develop across bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and general accounts work.
Key Responsibilities
* Processing purchase/sales invoices
* Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records
* Preparing VAT returns
* Bank, credit card and online platform reconciliations (PayPal, Shopify, Amazon etc.)
* Supporting clients with bookkeeping queries and system setup
* Liaising with HMRC
* Assisting with payroll processing
* Supporting sole trader accounts and tax returns
About You
* AAT Level 3 or 4 student (or equivalent)
* Bookkeeping experience (practice or industry)
* Strong IT and cloud‑software skills
* Excellent communication and attention to detail
* Positive, organised, eager to learn
* Ambition to progress within accountancy practice
Desirable
* Xero, QuickBooks or Sage experience
* VAT and basic payroll knowledge
* Previous practice experience
