The Role
You will be responsible for leading and delivering statutory audit assignments while working closely with clients and supporting junior members of the team.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Leading and delivering statutory audits for a diverse portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses, SMEs and limited companies.
• Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies in accordance with relevant accounting and regulatory requirements.
• Planning audits and carrying out risk assessments.
• Reviewing junior team members' audit work and identifying key audit issues.
• Completing audit assignments accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Supervising, coaching and supporting junior members of the audit team.
• Liaising with clients, managers and senior stakeholders to resolve technical matters and deliver an efficient audit service.
• Maintaining high standards of audit quality and compliance.
Experience & Requirements
• At least 3 years' experience within a UK audit practice environment.
• Proven experience leading and delivering statutory audits.
• Experience working with owner-managed businesses, SMEs and limited companies across a range of sectors.
• Strong experience preparing statutory accounts.
• Experience planning audits, performing risk assessments and reviewing audit files.
• Previous experience supervising, coaching and reviewing junior team members.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• Currently studying towards, or qualified in, ACA or ACCA.
• A commitment to continued professional and technical development.
• A proactive, resilient and team-focused approach.
