Trainee Communication Support Worker
Perfect for candidates who hold BSL Level 2 and are working towards Level 3.
You'll receive structured training, mentoring and support to develop into a qualified Communication Support Worker whilst gaining invaluable practical experience working with Deaf learners.
Communication Support Worker
For qualified CSWs with experience supporting Deaf learners within educational, community or workplace settings.
You will play a vital role enabling learners to fully access education, training, work placements and social opportunities through high-quality communication support.
Senior Communication Support Worker / Team Leader
An exciting opportunity for experienced CSW professionals looking to lead, mentor and develop a specialist support team while helping shape service delivery and best practice.
What You'll Be Doing
Depending on your experience level, responsibilities may include:
* Supporting Deaf learners in educational, community and workplace environments
* Facilitating communication through British Sign Language
* Supporting learners on work placements, supported internships and enrichment activities
* Encouraging confidence, independence and self-advocacy
* Working alongside specialist teachers, job coaches and multidisciplinary teams
* Contributing to learner reviews and educational planning
* Supporting learners to achieve qualifications and preparation for adulthood goals
* Mentoring and supporting less experienced colleagues
* Leading teams, staff development and operational delivery (senior roles)
We're Looking For
Applications are welcomed from candidates with:
* BSL Level 2, Level 3 or higher qualifications
* A passion for education and inclusion
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Understanding of Deaf culture and the Deaf community
* GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
* A commitment to supporting young people to achieve their full potential
Previous experience supporting Deaf people through employment, education, volunteering or lived experience is highly desirable.
