The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Barnet Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities Team. This is a specialist frontline role supporting children and young people with complex needs, ensuring they are safeguarded and supported to achieve positive outcomes.
You will manage complex cases while providing guidance to less experienced colleagues and contributing to high-quality, relationship-based practice.
In this role, you will:
Manage a complex caseload of children with disabilities and additional needs
Undertake Child and Family Assessments and statutory visits
Develop and review Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children plans
Work closely with families, carers, schools, and health professionals
Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes
Provide support and mentoring to less experienced Social Workers
Maintain high-quality reports and accurate case recordings
What You’ll Need:
Social Work England Registration
Social Work Qualification
At least 3 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s social care
Strong experience within Children with Disabilities services
Confidence managing complex and high-risk cases
Ability to support and mentor others
Excellent assessment, analytical, and communication skills
