How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: SEN Teacher 
    Location: Kestrel House School, Crouch End, London N8 9EA
    Hours:      36 per week | Monday–Friday | 8.15am - 4.15pm
    Salary:      Up to £51,000.00 per annum (not pro rata)
    Contract:  Permanent | Term Time Only
    Start:        September 2026

    About the Role

    As a Class Teacher at Kestrel House, you will play a central role in developing pupils’ academic abilities, communication skills, social understanding, and independence. You will lead your class team with clarity, compassion, and high expectations — ensuring every pupil receives the highest quality education and care.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    Designing and delivering engaging schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with the Kestrel House curriculum and individual pupil targets.

    Creating practical, meaningful, and contextual learning opportunities that build independence and prepare pupils for adulthood.

    Organising an inspiring and well‑structured learning environment with high‑quality resources.

    Providing strong, supportive line management to your class team.

    Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and maintaining professional, proactive communication with parents and carers.

    Using assessment tools effectively to track, record, and celebrate pupil progress.

    Fostering a genuine love of learning and ensuring every pupil is challenged to reach their full potential.

    Supporting the wellbeing, safety, and behaviour of pupils in line with school policies.

    Demonstrating excellent practice and working collaboratively with colleagues across the school.

    Communicating clearly and professionally with all stakeholders.

    Developing your expertise in teaching autistic pupils, staying aligned with best practice and sharing knowledge with the wider team.

    Maintaining accurate records and upholding the highest standards of confidentiality.
