Job Title: Quantity Surveyor – House Building

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to join our growing house building team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-quality residential developments, managing costs from pre-construction through to final account while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
You will play a key role in maintaining financial control, maximising profitability, and supporting the delivery of multiple housing projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for new developments
- Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering, and contract negotiations
- Monitor and control project costs, valuations, and variations
- Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts
- Conduct site visits to measure and value works completed
- Identify cost risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Work closely with site managers, buyers, and technical teams
- Ensure compliance with contractual and legal requirements
- Provide accurate financial reporting to senior management
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- Proven experience in residential house building
- Excellent negotiation and commercial management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Proficient in relevant construction and cost management software
- Full UK driving licence
