The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Works Manager with a strong background in earthworks to join a major A9 infrastructure project in Perth.
This is an immediate requirement for a permanent position working Monday to Friday on a significant roadworks scheme involving the upgrade of 8.2km of carriageway to dual carriageway standard.
The successful candidate will oversee and coordinate earthworks operations across the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements.
This is a key leadership role on a long-term infrastructure project with substantial future workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and coordinating day-to-day site operations
- Overseeing large-scale earthworks activities
- Supervising site teams, subcontractors, plant, and logistics
- Ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, and to specification
- Driving health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Liaising with engineering and project management teams
- Monitoring progress and resolving operational issues efficiently
- Supporting overall project delivery objectives
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Works Manager within civil engineering
- Strong earthworks experience is essential
- Previous highways or major infrastructure project experience preferred
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple work fronts and site teams
- SMSTS and relevant site certifications preferred
