How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Oversee key financial, operational and data processes, ensuring appropriate controls are in place around reconciliations, payments, confidential information and data protection.

    * Review existing processes and systems, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen controls and enhance the overall member experience.
    * Support the delivery of wider pensions projects and initiatives, providing technical input and ensuring agreed changes are implemented effectively.

    You will also bring:
    * Strong technical understanding of defined benefit pension schemes, including benefit calculations, scheme rules, HMRC requirements and relevant UK legislation.
    * Previous experience of supervising, leading or developing a pensions administration team.
    * A highly organised and methodical approach, with excellent attention to detail when handling complex calculations, financial information and sensitive member data.
    * The confidence to deal with complex pension queries and provide clear, practical guidance to a range of stakeholders.
    * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with Trustees, advisers, auditors, HR, Payroll and scheme members.
    * A proactive mindset with a genuine interest in improving processes, strengthening controls and delivering a high-quality service.
    * The ability to manage competing priorities effectively within a regulated and deadline-driven environment.

With a workforce of more than 14,000 employees, the organisation is continuing to deliver a major investment programme aimed at transforming the UK's energy system and supporting a more sustainable future.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation at an exciting period of continued growth and investment, working as part of a professional and established HR function.
