Family Solicitor – Manchester - (2–5 PQE)
I’m working with a highly regarded, award-winning regional law firm that continues to outperform the wider market — both in terms of growth and culture.
Recently ranked within the Top 100 Best Mid-Sized Companies to Work For in the UK and recognised as a leading firm in the legal sector, this practice has built its reputation on combining commercial strength with a genuinely people-first approach.
Due to continued growth, the firm is looking to appoint an experienced Family Solicitor (2–8 PQE) to join its established and supportive Family team.
This role offers exposure to a strong pipeline of privately funded divorce, financial remedy and children matters, including work for high-net-worth individuals.
You will:
- Manage your own caseload with appropriate autonomy
- Progress matters efficiently while maintaining high levels of client care
- Attend court hearings, mediations and client meetings
- Draft legal documentation and court papers
- Work closely with colleagues across the wider team
- Play an active role in networking and business development
- Contribute to the ongoing growth and operational development of the department
This is a team that values collaboration — you’ll have independence, but never isolation.
This opportunity would suit a commercially minded Family Solicitor who is confident running their own matters and comfortable engaging directly with clients.
You’ll ideally have:
- 2–5 years’ PQE in Family law
- Experience acting for privately funded (and ideally HNW) clients
- Strong organisation and file management skills
- Excellent drafting and communication ability
- Confidence using case management systems
- An interest in networking and developing client relationships
Leadership experience is welcomed but not essential.
Why Consider This Move?
- Hybrid working policy
- A realistic 1,200 chargeable hours target
- Bonus scheme and structured pay reviews
- Clear biannual promotion pathway
- Private health cash plan and EAP
- Increasing holiday entitlement with service
- Paid volunteering days
- Regular firmwide social and recognition events
Most importantly, this is a firm that genuinely invests in its people. The culture is collaborative, ambitious and progressive — without the hierarchy or politics often seen elsewhere.
If you’re a Family Solicitor considering your next move and open to a confidential conversation, I’d be happy to talk you through the team, structure and long-term progression prospects.
