Teaching Assistant - Special Needs Secondary School (Full-Time)

Tradewind Recruitment are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive special needs secondary school in Eccles, who are looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and making a genuine difference in their education and development.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to students aged 11-16 with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, communication needs, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting students in both classroom and small group settings
Assisting with personalised learning activities
Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
Helping students develop confidence, independence, and social skills
Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff

The Ideal Candidate

The school is seeking someone who is:

Patient, caring, and resilient
Passionate about working with young people with special educational needs
Able to build positive relationships and adapt to individual student needs
Experienced in education, care, youth work, or support work (preferred but not essential)
Committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
