How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) - M30 Area
    Start Date: ASAP
    Contract: Full-time, Temporary with Long-Term Potential
    Pay Rate: £109.85 - £120 per day (depending on experience)
    We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the M30 area. This is a full-time position with an immediate start and strong long-term potential for the right candidate.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
    Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
    Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
    Help create an inclusive and engaging learning environment
    Monitor and report on pupil progress
    Promote positive behaviour and support individual learning plans (EHCPs where applicable)

    Requirements:

    Previous experience working within a school or SEND environment is highly desirable
    Strong understanding of SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or similar
    A valid DBS on the Update Service (UDS), or willingness to obtain a new one
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach

    Transferable Skills / Experience:

    Experience in care, youth work, support work, or similar roles
    Background in psychology, education, or child development
    Experience supporting individuals with additional needs in any setting
    Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
    Ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs
