A leading Tier 1 main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Construction Planner to join their London team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Planner to work on a major construction project within a well-established main contractor, taking responsibility for developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes and working closely with the wider project team to ensure successful delivery.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of construction sequencing and programme management, with the ability to engage confidently with site teams, subcontractors, consultants and senior management.
Key Responsibilities
-Develop, maintain and update detailed construction programmes in line with project requirements.
-Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Managers and subcontractors to establish realistic construction sequences.
-Monitor progress against the approved baseline programme and identify areas of delay or potential slippage.
-Maintain and analyse the project critical path, float and key milestones.
-Produce short-term and medium-term look-ahead programmes.
-Collect and validate progress information from site teams and subcontractors.
-Identify programme risks, constraints, interfaces and opportunities for improvement.
-Develop recovery and mitigation programmes where required.
-Assist with programme reporting for internal management and client/project meetings.
-Provide accurate completion forecasts and programme analysis.
-Coordinate programme interfaces between construction, design, procurement, commercial and commissioning activities.
-Support the preparation of progress reports, programme narratives and other project controls information.
-Assist with delay analysis and extension-of-time assessments where required.
-Ensure programme information is accurate, robust and aligned with the project's contractual requirements.
Requirements
-5+ years' experience in construction planning within a main contractor environment.
-Strong understanding of construction methodology, sequencing and buildability.
-Proven experience working on large-scale or complex construction projects.
-Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6.
