Their Civils division operates within the water industry delivering non-infrastructure projects for Tier1 main contractors. Due to recent awards and a healthy order book for clients working in a 5year framework, they are looking for a Sub Agent to initially manage projects ranging from £500k - £4m. They have schemes within the Anglian Water and Severn Trent Water regions (Coventry, Rugby, Northampton, Buckingham, Banbury, Stratford upon Avon, and Redditch).
They are flexible in terms of working arrangements which could include days on site, days in the office, and one day working from home. Travel to sites would normally be within a 1-hour radius where you will be placed on projects within commuting distance from home.
Job Description
We’re looking for a Civils Sub-Agent to take a leading role in delivering safe, efficient and profitable civil engineering projects. You’ll be responsible for driving programme, quality and budget performance while supporting and mentoring your team to achieve successful project outcomes.
* Management and awareness of all aspects of day-to-day site production for the satisfactory completion of specific elements of the project, including resource management, forward planning, and communication with their teams.
* Preparation of all relevant documentation prior to the commencement of the installation phase of contracts.
* Risk Assessments and Method Statements for activities being undertaken by directly employed resources.
* Manage, supervise and mentor engineering resource to ensure compliance with the contract drawings, specification and ensuring effective implementation of all engineering controls.
* Support the Project Manager with controlling costs, forecasting value and the production of programmes.
* Management and control of all site activities ensuring that all work is undertaken in a safe and timely manner in accordance with all Safety, Health and Environmental legislation, all relevant contractual timescales, and all relevant contract specifications.
Experience required.
* Degree or HND in Civil Engineering.
* Demonstrable experience of working within the water and / or sewage industries (preferred).
* Previous experience in a similar role within Civil Engineering and design & build projects.
* Strong civil engineering background with solid knowledge of health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.
* Relevant H&S qualifications (IOSH or CITB 5 Day Site Safety Management, A relevant CSCS card, First Aid training and EUSR).
* Good understanding of commercial and contractual aspects.
