The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We are seeking an individual with a strong technical understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes. While commercial skills can be developed, it is essential that the successful candidate has the technical knowledge and experience to accurately interpret engineering information and produce reliable manufacturing costings.
The role requires a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of fabrication processes, including but not limited to:
Plate and tube/pipe bending and rolling
Cutting and profiling
Drilling and machining
Heat treatment processes
Welding across a variety of materials, including copper, carbon steel and stainless steel, with knowledge of specialist welding techniques
Mechanical assembly
Testing and inspection
Surface preparation and painting/coating processesThe successful candidate will be able to interpret engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to identify the manufacturing processes required for each component or assembly. They will have the knowledge to determine the most suitable manufacturing route, whether through in-house production or external suppliers.
A key aspect of the role is the ability to estimate manufacturing times for each stage of the fabrication process, enabling the production of accurate and commercially competitive costings and quotations.
Candidates should be confident working within an engineering manufacturing environment and possess a practical understanding of how fabricated components progress from raw material through to finished product.
