How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Maintenance Engineer
    Scunthorpe
    Competitive Salary
    My client is looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team at their Scunthorpe waste and recycling facility on a rotating shift pattern to include alternate Saturday mornings.
    This is a hands‑on role supporting the reliability, safety, and performance of both fixed and mobile plant within a fast‑paced, industrial environment.
    Working on a rotating shift pattern, you will deliver planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs to ensure maximum plant availability and minimal disruption to production.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fixed and mobile plant.
    * Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns efficiently.
    * Undertake welding and fabrication work (MIG / ARC or equivalent) to support repairs and plant integrity.
    * Ensure plant and machinery are available and fully operational during production hours.
    * Maintain accurate maintenance records, including job cards, photographs, and defect reports.
    * Record parts usage and support control of critical spares.
    * Work closely with operational teams to align maintenance activities with production requirements.
    * Communicate outstanding defects and repairs clearly at shift handover.
    * Carry out risk assessments prior to commencing maintenance tasks.
    * Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site safety at all times
    Experience
    * Time‑served Maintenance Engineer / Plant Fitter – essential.
    * Proven welding experience (MIG / ARC or equivalent) – essential.
    * Experience working on heavy processing plant, both static and mobile.
    * Knowledge of shredders, trommels, conveyors or similar plant equipment – an advantage.
    * Strong mechanical fault‑finding and repair capability.
    * Physically capable of working in an industrial environment, including manual handling
