How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

    *

    Location: Crosby

    *

Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

    *

    Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent

    *

    Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

    About Us

We believe that every pupil deserves an education that champions their unique strengths and supports their individual journeys. We are a dedicated vibrant community specializing in supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

We are looking for a resilient, empathetic, and energetic Teaching Assistant to join our close-knit team. If you are passionate about breaking down barriers to learning and making a tangible difference in young people's lives, we want to hear from you.

    The Role

In this role, no two days are the same. Working closely with class teachers, you will provide vital academic, social, and emotional support to pupils aged 11–16. Your day starts at 08:30, helping students transition smoothly into the school day, and finishes at 15:30 after ensuring a safe and positive dismissal.

    Key Responsibilities:

    *

Tailored Support: Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions tailored to students with ASD and SEMH profiles.

    *

De-escalation & Emotional Regulation: Utilize positive behavior strategies to support pupils through moments of crisis or anxiety.

    *

Building Independence: Help students develop crucial life skills, social communication skills, and emotional resilience.

    *

Collaboration: Work alongside teachers, therapists, and parents to implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

    About You

You don’t necessarily need years of formal school experience, but you do need the right mindset. We are looking for someone who is:

    *

Patient & Empathetic: Possesses a deep understanding of (or a strong desire to learn about) neurodiversity, ASD, and SEMH.

    *

Resilient: Able to remain calm, grounded, and positive under pressure or during challenging behavior.

    *

A Great Communicator: Expert at building trust and rapport with young people who may find communication difficult.

    *

Proactive: Ready to dive in, bring new ideas, and be a reliable team player.

Experience with positive handling or specific ASD/SEMH interventions is a major plus, but comprehensive training will be provided.

    What We Offer

    *

A highly supportive, welcoming, and collaborative staff team.

    *

Ongoing professional development, including specialized training in ASD strategy and SEMH support.

    *

Ideal working hours (08:30 – 15:30) offering an excellent work-life balance.

    *

The opportunity to make a profound, lasting impact on the lives of incredible young people.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate
