Responsibilities
As a Junior Accountant in IJmuiden, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the accounting team. Your responsibilities include:
- Supporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closings.
- Recording bank journals and preparing payment proposals.
- Monitoring cash position and handling fund requests.
- Tracking and reconciling balances of accounts payable and receivable.
- Assisting in the preparation of tax declarations (e.g., VAT and others).
- Performing general ledger reconciliations.
- Collaborating with colleagues and other departments to gather necessary information.
- Providing administrative support, including preparing SOX control reports, monitoring balance accounts, aiding in audit processes, and contributing to ad-hoc projects.
Profile
To thrive in this (Junior Accountant) role in IJmuiden, you should meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of accounting experience; shipping industry experience is a plus.
- Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office, with strong reporting skills.
- Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite is an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of NL GAAP (Dutch accounting standards).
- Detail-oriented while keeping an overall perspective.
