Our client, PostNL in Den Bosch, is currently looking for motivated package delivery drivers (with a B driver's license) for routes in and around Den Bosch. There are full-time and part-time options available, and we'll provide you with all the details below:
As a package delivery driver at PostNL, you will be well-supported from your first day on the job. You'll work alongside an experienced driver to learn the job step by step. The start times vary between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM, depending on the route you'll be assigned. You have the flexibility to indicate your preference. If you're an early bird and prefer to start at 7:00 AM, that's possible. If you'd rather sleep in and start at 11:00 AM, that's an option too. There's room for discussion to accommodate your preferences. Completing a route, including loading and unloading, takes about 8 to 9 hours. If you start at 7:00 AM, you'll finish around 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM, leaving you with a portion of the afternoon and the entire evening free.
You have the choice to work full-time, which can include Monday through Friday, or Tuesday through Saturday (with a 40% Saturday bonus). Alternatively, you can choose to work 1, 2, 3, or 4 days a week.
Your day begins with loading your delivery van. Packages come down the conveyor belt, and it's your responsibility to load the van in the correct order. Once all the packages for your route are in the van, you'll take the wheel and begin your route. An experienced colleague will sit in the passenger seat and assist you along the way, offering tips and guidance. They'll teach you how to ensure packages are delivered to the correct locations and how to operate the handheld scanner, among other things.
Typically, a route consists of approximately 150 stops, but in the initial phase, you'll have around 70 stops. This number gradually increases, and once you have everything under control, you'll reach those 150 stops. Packages are usually not heavier than 31 kilograms, with heavier packages being the exception. Most packages are much lighter, and for the really heavy ones, you'll always have a hand scanner with you.
At the end of your route, you might still have undeliverable packages. In such cases, you'll return these packages to the central facility and sign up for them again the next day. Once you've completed this, your day is done, and you can head home.
It's essential for these tasks that you are physically fit and can handle frequent in and out of the vehicle as well as lifting packages. PostNL also requires that you speak fluent Dutch or English so that you can communicate effectively with customers.
In these roles, you'll be driving directly for PostNL through Logistic Force, not for a charter company.
