As aSenior Transport Planner – Asset Planning, you are the strategic and operational owner of the asset deployment across regionsforour Transport Group.
You donot simply coordinate planning —you own decisions that drive utilisation,margin,and structural network performance.
You oversee fleet planning, design scalable lane and capacity models, and ensure that service excellence translates into stable, high-density volume growth. You align daily execution with long-term commercial and operational strategy, working closely with Sales, Revenue Management, Dispatch, and Customer Success.
You act as an escalation point for complex planning challenges and coach planners to think in terms of optimisation, utilisation, and sustainable growth.
Tasks: Strategic Asset Planning & Optimisation- Own regional asset deployment and fleet utilisation strategy.
- Design scalable lane and capacity models to increase density and reduce empty mileage.
- Translate forecasts into structural allocation and repositioning plans.
- Drive continuous improvement in cost per km, turn rates, and utilisation KPIs.
- Identify and initiate growth opportunities together with Sales.
- Turn service excellence into stable, high-density volume growth.
- Support tenders/RFPs with data-driven asset strategies.
- Ensure planning decisions actively contribute to margin and long-term profitability.
- Oversee daily fleet scheduling in close alignment with Dispatch.
- Act as escalation point for complex disruptions and capacity risks.
- Safeguard best-in-class service through proactive stakeholder communication.
- Coach planners on utilisation-driven and margin-conscious decision-making.
- Improve forecasting models, reporting, and planning processes.
- Contribute to long-term network optimisation and structural improvements.
- 6+ years of hands‑on experience in asset-based transport planning within a complex European road network.
- Strong expertise in transport economics, fleet optimisation, and network design.
- Advanced experience with forecasting models, cost analysis, and margin management.
- Proven experience contributing to tenders/RFPs and strategic planning initiatives.
- Experience coaching or mentoring planners.
- Strong stakeholder management skills — you communicate confidently at operational and commercial levels.
- Advanced knowledge of TMS systems, dashboards, and Excel.
- Professional command of English (Dutch or other European languages are a plus).
- Professional command of French language is highly preferred.
- Dutch or other European languages are a plus.
