We are looking for an experienced Interim Commercial Leader to take the lead in the commercial department of Crowne Plaza Amsterdam South (207 rooms) and voco™ The Hague (198 rooms) for a temporary period. The duration of the assignment is open for discussion, and we welcome candidates interested in a full-time or part-time arrangement, including ZZP professionals.
In this senior leadership role, you will oversee the overall commercial strategy and performance of both hotels, bringing together Sales, Revenue, Marketing, and Meetings & Events to drive business growth, maximise profitability, and strengthen our market position. Working closely with the General Managers and hotel leadership teams, you will ensure commercial priorities are translated into clear action plans and measurable results.

Reporting to the General Manager, your key responsibilities are:
Commercial Leadership & Strategy
· Lead the overall commercial function across both hotels, ensuring alignment between Sales, Revenue, Marketing, and Meetings & Events.
· Develop, implement, and oversee commercial strategies that drive revenue growth, profitability, market share, and long-term business performance.
· Work closely with the General Manager and relevant stakeholders to establish commercial priorities, set objectives, and translate business goals into actionable plans.
· Assess current commercial performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement initiatives that deliver measurable results.
· Ensure continuity of commercial operations throughout the interim assignment, maintaining momentum on existing initiatives while identifying new opportunities.
· Provide strategic commercial advice and recommendations to hotel leadership based on market intelligence, business performance, and changing customer demand.
Sales & Business Development
· Oversee the sales strategy and activities across both properties, ensuring effective business development across Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Meetings & Events.
· Guide the sales team in achieving revenue targets, developing key accounts, and generating new business opportunities.
· Strengthen relationships with key corporate clients, business partners, and industry stakeholders.
· Identify opportunities to grow market share, increase business from existing accounts, and expand the hotels' client portfolios.
· Ensure effective account management, sales planning, and pipeline development across both hotels.
· Represent Crowne Plaza Amsterdam South and voco™ The Hague at relevant industry events, client meetings, and networking opportunities.
Revenue & Business Performance
· Oversee revenue management activities in collaboration with the Revenue team, ensuring pricing, forecasting, and distribution strategies support overall commercial objectives.
· Monitor key performance indicators, including occupancy, average daily rate (ADR), RevPAR, total revenue, and profitability.
· Analyse market trends, competitor performance, booking patterns, and demand forecasts to identify opportunities and respond to changing market conditions.
· Lead the commercial planning and budgeting process, ensuring realistic targets, effective resource allocation, and clear accountability for results.
· Review financial and commercial performance regularly, identifying risks, opportunities, and corrective actions where needed.
· Ensure close alignment between Sales and Revenue to optimise business mix and maximise the overall value of each hotel.
Meetings & Events
· Oversee the Meetings & Events strategy across both hotels, ensuring the effective conversion of business opportunities and growth in event revenue.
· Work with the Meetings & Events team to strengthen client relationships, increase conversion rates, and maximise revenue from meetings, conferences, social events, and group business.
· Identify opportunities for cross-selling between Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Meetings & Events.
· Ensure effective collaboration between Sales, Meetings & Events, Revenue, and Operations to deliver a seamless client journey and strong commercial results.
· Monitor performance and implement initiatives to improve productivity, profitability, and the overall competitiveness of both hotels' event offerings.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration
· Lead, support, and motivate the commercial teams across both hotels, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability, and performance.
· Establish clear priorities and expectations, monitor progress, and provide guidance to team members and department leaders.
· Build strong working relationships with hotel leadership, department heads, and operational teams to ensure commercial strategies are effectively executed.
· Identify development needs, support knowledge sharing, and strengthen collaboration across the commercial functions.
· Communicate commercial performance, priorities, and recommendations clearly to relevant stakeholders.
· Ensure an effective handover of ongoing projects, commercial plans, and key priorities at the conclusion of the interim assignment.
What we're looking for:
· Proven experience in a senior commercial leadership role within the hospitality industry, ideally in an upscale, lifestyle, or international hotel environment.
· A strong track record of leading commercial functions and delivering results across Sales, Revenue, Marketing, and Meetings & Events.
· Demonstrated ability to quickly assess business needs, establish priorities, and make an impact in an interim leadership position.
· Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and analytical skills, with a clear focus on revenue growth and profitability.
· Experience leading and developing teams, aligning different commercial functions, and building effective stakeholder relationships.
· Excellent understanding of hotel revenue management, sales strategy, market positioning, budgeting, forecasting, and business development.
· Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
· A hands-on, flexible, and solution-oriented approach, with the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
· An established network within the Dutch hospitality and corporate market is an advantage.
· Fluency in English is required; Dutch is preferred.
