As Financial Accountant you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of accounting reports for several legal entities of MODIFI Group, including head office in Amsterdam. You will assist with year-end closures and financial audits and play a supporting role in implementing ERP and moving bookkeeping function in-house.
This is a hybrid position based in Amsterdam.
Responsibilities:
Run monthly closing activities for several legal entities of MODIFI Group comprising of:

gathering relevant supporting documentation

preparing necessary calculation and accruals

sending pack of accounting information to the 3rd party for outsourced bookkeeping

liaising with accounting provider on tax and accounting questions
-
review monthly accounting reports prepared by accounting provider for accuracy

Oversee yearly closings and assist in annual financial audits under IFRS and local GAAPs

Play an active part in accounting systems implementation and restructuring bookkeeping processes

Contribute to monthly and quarterly management reports preparation

Help to set up internal policies and procedures on accounting and reporting

Other ad-hoc tasks related to the record-to-report domain.
Requirements
- Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience as Financial Accountant, Controller or similar role
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or relevant field
- Work experience in fintech and/or audit is advantageous, ideally familiarity with factoring or lending type of businesses
- Generalist capability across a wide range of accounting activities and a proficient knowledge of general accounting rules
- Good knowledge of IFRS, Dutch and/or German GAAP is a plus
- Motivated, problem-solving mentality, confident raising issues and challenging the status quo, good communicator
- Process and deadline-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Fluent in English
