We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Bid Manager to oversee and manage the end-to-end bid and proposal process across all commercial domains of our company – Space, Big Science, and IT. The ideal candidate will coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders from multiple departments to deliver high-quality, compelling and timely proposals that align with our strategic goals. This position is located at ATG Europe’s HQ in Noordwijk, The Netherlands.
Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage).
Responsibilities- Lead and manage the entire bid lifecycle — from opportunity qualification to bid submission — for commercial clients across all domains;
- Develop and implement bid plans, schedules, and resource assignments to meet proposal deadlines;
- Coordinate input from cross-functional teams, including technical, legal, finance, and operations, ensuring all contributions are aligned and integrated into a cohesive proposal;
- Liaise with internal stakeholders at all levels to gather content, review draft responses, and ensure approvals;
- Organize and chair bid kickoff meetings, reviews, and governance gates (e.g., solution reviews, commercial reviews, executive approvals);
- Ensure compliance with client requirements and internal processes, including quality standards and brand guidelines;
- Manage risk by identifying and addressing potential issues early in the bid process;
- Maintain a library of reusable content, templates, and best practices to improve efficiency and consistency;
- Monitor and report on bid progress, highlighting blockers or resource needs.
- University degree in Business, Law, Engineering, Science or a related field;
- At least 5 years of relevant experience;
- Proven experience as a Bid Manager, Proposal Manager, or similar role within a technical, commercial or engineering environment;
- Experience working with public and private sector clients, including international agencies;
- Strong understanding of bid processes in complex, multidisciplinary domains such as Space, Big Science and IT;
- Excellent project management, organizational and time-management skills;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with bid management tools (e.g. SharePoint, CRM systems, proposal automation platforms);
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across functions and influence without authority;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail;
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines;
- Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU;
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
