Vacatures in Boxmeer

Are you passionate about technology, enjoy solving technical challenges and want to work internationally? Join JBT Marel as a Field Service Engineer and work with advanced machinery for the global food processing industry. Based in Boxmeer, the Netherlands, you will travel to customer sites to install, commission and troubleshoot automated production lines. With a background in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering and experience with PLC-controlled systems, you will help customers keep their operations running smoothly.

You don’t need to be a PLC programmer or electrical design expert. If you can read basic electrical schematics, enjoy hands-on problem-solving and are ready to travel internationally, this could be your next career move!

As a Field Service Engineer, you will combine practical technical work, fault-finding and direct customer contact. International travel is an essential part of this position. You will primarily travel to customer sites across Europe, with occasional trips to the United States and Australia. The travel schedule is expected to involve approximately 50–60% of your working time. Assignments may require you to stay away from home, but consecutive trips away are generally limited to around two to two and a half weeks.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Installing, commissioning and testing industrial machinery and production systems at customer sites;
• Troubleshooting technical faults involving electrical systems, PLC-controlled machinery and automation;
• Reading and interpreting basic electrical schematics to identify components, connections and potential faults;
• Working with PLC-controlled systems without necessarily programming PLCs yourself;
• Carrying out service, maintenance and repair activities to ensure reliable machine performance;
• Supporting customers on-site and remotely, explaining technical issues and helping them find solutions;
• Collaborating with customers and international colleagues to complete service activities effectively;
• Reporting technical findings, service activities and any follow-up actions required.

To be successful in this role, you should have a solid technical foundation and experience in an industrial environment. Essential requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering;
• Experience working with PLC-controlled systems;
• The ability to read and understand basic electrical schematics;
• Experience in an industrial environment involving machinery or automated production processes;
• A practical and analytical approach to troubleshooting technical problems;
• Good communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset;
• A good command of English;
• Willingness to travel internationally for approximately 50–60% of your working time.

Experience that would be particularly relevant:

Candidates with experience in packaging lines, food processing equipment or other industrial production lines are especially interesting. Experience with machinery used in continuous or high-volume production environments can also be relevant.

Experience in robotics or medical technology is less directly aligned with the current requirements, particularly where the work focuses mainly on modular assembly rather than servicing industrial production lines.

What do we offer?

• The opportunity to work for an international technology company in the food processing industry;
• A varied technical role involving advanced machinery, automation and industrial production systems;
• An onboarding program to help you become familiar with the equipment, processes and customers;
• Technical training and development with support from experienced colleagues;
• International exposure and the opportunity to work with customers across different countries;
• A role that combines hands-on engineering, troubleshooting and customer interaction.
