Are you ready for a new challenge in the logistics and sports world? We are looking for a sporty department manager (team leader) in our ultra-modern warehouse!

What you are going to do:

We are looking for a department manager who was born for sports in the world of logistics. You have a passion for sports and knowledge of various expertise within logistics. Leading a team and growing it at the same time is second nature. Your own personal growth also plays an important role in this. You will ensure that orders will reach our customers on time. You will be the engine behind a smoothly running logistics operation and have the opportunity to show your leadership talent in an environment that is constantly moving forward. Futhermore:

• You encourage your teammates (a team of 10-25 employees) to promote Decathlon's values.
• You are responsible for your team management in the areas of recruitment, onboarding, planning, contracts of team mates and offboarding
• You motivate your team members to get the best out of themselves and take both their sports career and personal development to the next level. So you will make sure they come happy to work
• You are in the lead for daily operational tasks. You will coordinate all logistics activities in our state-of-the-art warehouse during one of your 'duty manager' shifts.
• You always think one step ahead and with your enthusiasm you easily attract new colleagues to your team.
• You work with KPIs. Together with the management team, you ensure sharp forecasting (daily, weekly, monthly and yearly) to achieve these goals. Including safety management: You make sure that you and every team member knows the safety procedures. And make sure the work space is safe to work. Together we contribute to the success of Decathlon.
• You always continue to develop yourself through the training courses we offer. This way you continue to increase your personal skills and knowledge. A win-win!

Duty manager:

We work with morning and afternoon shifts (and night shifts during peak seasons). During these shifts we will be needing someone who is responsible for the warehouse (all of the processes and all the employees). And we divide these shifts among our team leaders. This means you will be duty manager for an average of 10 shifts per months. During these shifts you will make sure that everything is going well in the warehouse, and for example you will be responsible for:

• Processes are up and running
• 90 -140 team mates per shift
• Communication with internal/external stakeholders during the shift
• Acting during accidents or evacuation

  
  

This is what is requires:

For the role of Department Manager Logistics you have management knowledge and/or experience. We are looking for someone with at least a completed MBO 4 education and demonstrable knowledge of logistics processes, or other relevant work experience. Your enthusiasm and commitment are also the most important! You set your own personal mission when you start working with us.

• You have a good sense of what the customer (B2C and B2B) wants. With your knowledge and energy you will make sure the processes run smoothly and customers remain loyal to our branch.
• You were born for the world of sports, dare to be yourself and are proactive.
• You are flexible in working hours and available 38 hours per week (including a regular weekend day)
• A flexible team player, we believe that teamwork and flexibility is the key to success.
• You are familiar with working with daily, weekly and monthly forecasting.
• You have an excellent command of the English language 
• You have a background in logistics management, supply chain management or other 'management roles'. Leadership is in your nature and you are enthusiastic about helping others grow.
• You need a valid visa/work permit to work for us and you need to be at least 18 years old

Good to know:

• During your workweek you are available to cover a morning or afternoon shift to be duty manager for our warehouse
• In high season you are available to cover a duty shift during night shifts
