This is a hands-on operational accounting role where you will work closely with the finance team and be actively involved in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, cash management and month-end activities.
As Finance Supervisor, you report into the Assistant of the Director of Finance and will be responsible for the following duties:
Coordinate the daily activities of a small finance team and support the development of colleagues;
Review and verify accounting entries, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting documentation to maintain the integrity of financial records;
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes and support the preparation of financial reports and management information;
Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, ensuring timely processing, accurate reconciliations and efficient collection of outstanding balances;
Review supplier reconciliations, resolve accounting discrepancies and ensure compliance with purchasing and approval procedures;
Monitor daily revenue postings, review general ledger transactions and ensure all financial transactions are correctly coded and allocated;
Review cash and banking reconciliations and support treasury and cash management activities whilst safeguarding company assets through effective controls;
Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with statutory, tax and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group requirements;
Supervise, train and coach Finance colleagues, allocating work effectively and supporting their ongoing development;
Support process improvements and participate in finance projects when required.
This position is ideal for an experienced Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger Accountant or Assistant Accountant who is ready to take the next step into a supervisory role.
As Finance Supervisor we expect from you:
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field;
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment;
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred;
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, reconciliations and month-end closing processes;
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel;
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills with a high level of integrity and attention to detail;
Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and thrive in a dynamic luxury hospitality environment.
