Accenture is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support both Accenture Netherlands and Avanade Netherlands & Belgium. You will be part of the Accenture Nordics legal team and will join the collaborative and efficient Avanade Belgium & Netherlands Legal Team. This is a unique opportunity to work across two leading organizations, shaping and negotiating client arrangements, guiding business stakeholders on legal and commercial risks, and supporting the management of existing contracts.
You will work on a wide range of local and global matters, including but not limited to: contracting, administrative law, employment, compliance, entity management, intellectual property, privacy, disputes/litigation, marketing, and M&A. You will collaborate closely with legal teams across the Americas and APAC, making this a truly international role.
You will have the ability to work remotely and from our office in Amsterdam to meet the local legal team and your contacts in person.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, structure, draft, and negotiate complex client transactions, including master services agreements, outsourcing agreements, statements of work, service level agreements, licensing agreements, SaaS agreements, data transfer agreements, and agreements involving cloud, security, automation, systems integration, and agile development.
- Advise senior leadership on legal and commercial risks associated with transactions, and suggest mitigating actions.
- Guide, train, and support junior legal professionals in transactions and related matters.
- Manage and advise on existing contracts, ensuring compliance with legal obligations and company policies.
- Develop subject matter expertise in areas relevant to Accenture and Avanade’s business.
- Participate in developing internal guidelines, toolkits, and knowledge capital.
- Support, promote, and implement Legal Group initiatives.
- Stay abreast of legal and industry developments and incorporate insights into transactional practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders at all levels.

- Strong academic credentials and admitted to practice law in the Netherlands.
- 8+ years of experience as an attorney/legal counsel, with at least 4 years in a corporate legal department (IT industry experience required).
- Minimum 6/8 years of transactional experience in digital, consulting, systems integration, and/or outsourcing, with increasing responsibility.
- At least 3 years of experience negotiating Intellectual Property and Data Privacy issues.
- Excellent judgment, prioritization, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to work independently, present alternatives and solutions and elevate issues as needed.
- Superior communication skills, with the ability to provide practical legal advice in a business context.
- Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting.
- Accomplished negotiator with an understanding of principle‑based negotiation strategy and tactics.
- Proven ability to manage a large volume of transactions independently.
- Experience negotiating and drafting technology‑based agreements.
- Good understanding of contracting/risk issues, including IP, as they apply to technology, data, consulting, systems integration, and outsourcing transactions.
- Strong executive presence and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to apply judgment to broaden influence.
- Understanding basic principles of Finance, Accounting, Marketing, and Management.
- Experience working with state and local government agencies or clients in the Public Sector.
- Travel might be required within the Netherlands and Belgium.
- Ability to work remotely and from the Amsterdam office.
