Our client is a leading manufacturing organization in the Netherlands, operating in a highly technical, high-volume production environment. The site in Leeuwarden plays a critical role in supplying packaging solutions directly to its customer base and is preparing for significant future investments.
Role OverviewAs Production Manager (5-shift system), you are responsible for the full production process during your shift. You lead, coach and develop your team, ensure safety and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement across people, process and performance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of approximately 35 FTE
- Own safety, quality, delivery and cost performance during your shift
- Escalate and resolve production issues and disruptions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/WCOM)
- Coach, train and develop operators and team leads
- Manage a production unit including technical projects and autonomous maintenance
- Collaborate with Maintenance, CI, QA, Planning, HR and SHE
- HBO degree or HBO working/thinking level
- 7–10 years experience in a production leadership role
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing
- Strong people management skills
- Knowledge of Lean, WCOM or similar improvement programs
- Fluent in Dutch
- Experience in FMCG, food, packaging or metal processing
- Experience in 5-shift or continuous production environments
