Role title: Pursuit Leader
Role purpose and accountabilities

The Pursuit Leader is responsible for leading the internal bid management of complex EY pursuits coaching on pursuit strategy and being a key member of the pursuit leadership team.
Additionally, the Pursuit Leader will identify, develop and implement innovative approaches to pursuit management and drive adoption to support a more effective and efficient business
development support function.

Key responsibilities
Overview

  • Ensure pursuits implement a full-service pursuit management model to ensure the effective management of the pursuit process
  • Direct the pursuit strategy to effectively position the firm’s thought leadership, global capabilities, resources, and overall credentials to positively distinguish EY from competitors
  • Drive the momentum of the pursuit and lead all members of the pursuit team to make certain that deliverables are met, duties are shared appropriately, and enthusiasm and motivation remain high
  • Lead, coach, influence and drive pursuit strategy and conceptualization of all client-facing materials (incl. value propositions) to maximise client engagement and positioning to optimize Pwin
  • Lead the interlock of wider Business Development and sales enhancement capabilities and instil exceptional client service to internal stakeholders bringing
  • Leads by example and advocates for Gold Standard pursuit practices
  • Oversee other pursuit support resources and ultimately responsible for the overall quality of the corresponding outputs
  • Lead post pursuit analysis and review; makes recommendations for sustainable process improvement
  • Lead development and champion best-practice pursuit management tools and processes

  • Proven ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to influence without authority, lead and coach others
  • Versatile relationship style to succeed in a constantly evolving environment with a wide variety of social styles

Skills & Qualifications

  • University/Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • Strategic thinking underpinned by strong management principles
  • Full sales lifecycle management and coaching of targeted pursuits (incl. winning track record of managing sales portfolios of concurrent pursuits)
  • Strong executive presence and ability to build and sustain client relationships at the highest levels of the firm and with C-suite clients
  • Strong market and solutions understanding with ability to build ‘enabling’ relationships
  • Proven people leader, influencer, negotiator and communicator
  • Excellent project and team management (incl. ability to manage large data sets) with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Solution-oriented and makes sound decisions quickly, given tight timeframes
  • Deep data and analytical skills

Experiences

  • 5-8+ years experience of pursuit/bid management experience in a corporate and/or professional services complex sales environment
  • Proven track record in playing a key role in delivering and winning pursuits
  • Experience working in a cross-border, multi-cultural environment
