The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We Are Zenith are working with an innovative engineering business that is looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled engineering team developing advanced mechanical systems from concept through to production. You'll play a key role in delivering innovative products, working closely with manufacturing, testing and supply chain teams in a hands-on environment with access to onsite production and test facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components
* Drive projects from concept, prototyping and validation through to production
* Carry out mechanical analysis using engineering calculations and simulation tools
* Produce 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings
* Support prototype builds, testing and product improvements
* Collaborate with manufacturing, test and supply chain teams
* Mentor and support junior engineers
* Ensure designs meet quality, performance and regulatory requirements
Essential Requirements
* Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
* Strong 3D CAD and engineering drawing experience
* Experience with mechanical analysis and CAE tools such as ANSYS or MATLAB
* Knowledge of DFM, DFA, DFMEA and PFMEA principles
* Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams
Desirable Experience
* Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks
* Rotating machinery, drivetrains, transmissions or gear systems
* High-volume manufacturing and cast component design
* Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
