The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Senior Quantity Surveyor – Major Infrastructure Project
We are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering a major UK infrastructure project. This is an excellent opportunity to join the project during the design phase, working as part of an experienced commercial team on a long-term infrastructure scheme.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial management of key project elements, ensuring effective cost control, contract administration and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the commercial management of allocated project work packages, managing all associated costs and revenue.
* Administer and manage NEC contracts, ensuring contractual compliance and commercial best practice.
* Prepare and analyse tender documentation and support procurement activities.
* Produce cost forecasts, CVRs, applications for payment and financial reconciliations.
* Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
* Negotiate subcontract agreements, valuations and final accounts.
* Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
* Support procurement strategies and provide commercial input into project planning and delivery.
* Supervise and mentor junior members of the commercial team, supporting their professional development.
* Ensure compliance with company governance, processes and digital systems.
Requirements
* BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
* Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on major UK infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
* Strong NEC contract experience (NEC4 knowledge desirable).
* Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor is preferred.
* Background within sectors such as Energy, Power, Nuclear, Transportation or Highways.
* Chartered (MRICS, MCIOB, MICE or equivalent) or working towards professional membership is desirable.
* Strong commercial, analytical and negotiation skills
