The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Quality and Inspection Engineer
Carry out precision inspection and quality checks on engineered components using manual tools and CMM equipment within an ISO-compliant environment. You will help ensure components meet customer and regulatory requirements across a variety of precision environments.
The role
This role is based in Bathgate working a standard Monday-Friday week.
This role focuses on maintaining and improving product quality by ensuring calibration, documentation and inspection standards are consistently met. You will also provide hands-on support in the workshop to ensure high quality standards are maintained throughout the entire process.
What you'll be doing
- Performing and documenting quality checks on incoming materials and subcontracted components.
- Carrying out initial, in-process and final inspections on components using manual tools such as micrometers and CMM machines.
- Ensuring proper calibration, managing calibration documentation and overseeing inspection equipment maintenance and inventory.
- Creating and maintaining FAIR inspection reports to a high standard
- Reporting non-conformances in line with ISO-compliant processes.
What we're looking for
- Experienced and/or time-served background preferred.
- Experience using CMM machines
- Experience within fast-paced or precision engineering environments.
- Strong attention to detail and a hands-on, practical approach.
