About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced SC Cleared Site Manager to join a Principal Contractor on a 3-month contract, with the potential for a longer-term extension.

The successful Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing subcontractors and managing the delivery of M&E, decorating and associated fit-out works on site. This is a hands-on site management position requiring strong subcontractor management, coordination, and site supervision experience.

Both day and night shifts are available, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager who is comfortable working within a controlled and security-sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site activities.

* Oversee and coordinate subcontractors working across M&E, decorating and fit-out packages.

* Ensure works are delivered safely on programme and to the required quality standards.

* Coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure efficient sequencing of works.

* Monitor progress against the programme and report any delays or issues to the Project/Contracts Manager.

* Conduct regular site inspections and ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

* Ensure all subcontractors comply with site rules, RAMS and health & safety requirements.

* Lead daily briefings, inductions and toolbox talks as required.

* Manage site logistics and coordinate access for trades and deliveries.

* Identify and resolve site-based issues promptly.

* Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports, inspections, and relevant documentation.

* Liaise with the Principal Contractor's project management team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

* Ensure a high standard of workmanship is maintained throughout the fit-out.

* Manage works during either day or night shifts depending on project requirements.

Essential Requirements

* Active SC Security Clearance – essential.

* BPSS clearance – essential.

* Proven experience working as a Site Manager for a Principal Contractor.

* Strong experience managing and overseeing subcontractors.

* Experience across M&E, fit-out and/or decorating works.

* Good understanding of construction health & safety requirements.

* Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, and RAMS.

* Strong communication and organisational skills.

* Ability to work independently and take ownership of site activities.

* Previous experience working on security-sensitive, government, commercial or controlled-access projects would be advantageous.

* Ability to work 8-hour day or night shifts.

Desirable

* SMSTS.

* First Aid.

* CSCS.

* Experience working within secure/government environments.

* Experience managing M&E subcontractors and fit-out trades
