This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated tradesperson who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and enjoys working on a variety of fabrication projects, both in the workshop and on-site.
Key Responsibilities
* Fabricate, assemble, and weld sheet metal and structural components from engineering drawings
* Carry out MIG, TIG and/or MMA welding to a high standard
* Measure, cut, bend, and shape materials using workshop machinery and hand tools
* Interpret technical drawings and work independently to complete tasks
* Perform finishing processes including grinding, polishing, and dressing welds
* Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality and specification standards
* Maintain a clean, safe working environment in line with health & safety procedures
Requirements
* Time-served apprenticeship in Sheet Metal Work, Fabrication, or Welding
* Proven experience in a similar role
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Experience with MIG/TIG welding processes
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Proactive approach with good problem-solving skills
Desirable (Not Essential)
* Experience working with stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel
* OEM build and assembly experience
* Mechanical fitting experience
* Experience operating fabrication machinery (press brakes, guillotines, rollers)
