Security Guard Gatehouse (Days and Nights)

Our client is recruiting for a Security Guard to join a high performing manufacturing company. You will provide a visible and dependable security presence on site, helping to keep employees, visitors, buildings, products and company assets safe. The role involves carrying out security duties in line with company procedures, site rules and legal requirements, while dealing calmly and effectively with day to day issues, incidents and emergency situations.

Security Guard Role and Responsibilities:

* The role involves 12 hour day and night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays as required

* There may be periods where the postholder works alone

* Duties will involve monitoring systems and managing challenging situations when they arise

* Control access to and from the site for employees, visitors, contractors and vehicles, following site procedures at all times

* Staff the Gatehouse and monitor CCTV, alarm and fire systems

* Carry out regular checks of security systems and equipment, reporting any faults or concerns as soon as they are identified

* Complete all logs, registers, reports and other security records accurately and on time.

* Issue, receive and control keys in line with site procedures

* Maintain accurate records of employee, visitor and contractor movements on and off site.

* Enforce access controls for restricted, controlled and high security areas

* Issue, update and replace ID badges for employees, visitors and contractors as required.

* Maintain security paperwork and related administrative records

* Carry out vehicle and personal searches where authorised and required under company procedures

* Ensure no company products, materials or property leave the site without the correct authorisation and documentation

* Record airfreight activity and complete checks in line with Known Consignor requirements

* Respond to alarms, incidents, suspicious activity and emergencies in a prompt, calm and professional manner

* Carry out scheduled alarm tests and report any faults or irregularities

* Assist with incident reporting and provide clear, accurate written reports when required

* Support the Security Manager with other reasonable security related duties as needed

The ideal Security Guard will:

* Previously worked 12 hour shifts and including nights

* Successful applicants will need to pass a BS7858 security screening

* Ability to follow instructions, procedures and site rules consistently

* Confident when dealing with employees, contractors, visitors and drivers, while remaining professional at all times

* Ability to maintain accurate written and electronic records

* Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a wider team

* Basic IT skills to complete logs, registers, emails and other routine records

* Willingness to complete training on site systems, procedures and security equipment

* Previous experience in a security role or a similar disciplined environment.

* Experience using CCTV systems, access control, alarms or carrying out gatehouse duties

Working Hours:

* 4 x days 3 x nights, 4 off. Then 3 x days 4 x nights, 3 off.
