Main Duties:
As an Assistant Management Accountant, your main duties include:
* Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts to help meet agreed reporting deadlines
* Posting month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments
* Acting as a first point of contact for internal queries relating to the month-end process, working closely with the Management Accountant and Finance Manager
* Completing balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner
* Helping to implement and maintain checks that ensure financial information is accurate and reliable
* Supporting the Finance Manager during the year-end process, including preparing information for external auditors
* Assisting with the preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders
* Contributing to the annual budget-setting process alongside the wider finance team
* Picking up other reasonable ad hoc duties to support the finance function as needed

What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have
* Studying towards AAT, or part qualified/qualified by experience towards ACCA or CIMA
* Previous exposure to management accounts is advantageous but not essential — experience with bank reconciliations, accruals and prepayments would be a strong plus
* Good attention to detail with the ability to process high volumes of information accurately
* Strong time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines
* Confident communication skills, comfortable building relationships with non-finance stakeholders
* IT proficient, with strong Excel/spreadsheet skills
* Able to work independently as well as part of a wider team
