The Company:
Our client is a City of London-based specialist motor insurance specialist. The business has in the region of 500 employees, and operates via broker relationships, digital channels, and aggregator platforms.
Background to the new role:
The business is well-established, but has recently experienced significant growth as a result of both acquisitions of smaller firms, affiliated brokerages, and organic growth via new channels.
As a result the business has very disparate business intelligence and data environment, comprising multiple legacy systems, data sources, and CRM platforms.
The aim is to talk the business from an unsupportable and uncertain data and BI environment, in essence transforming myriad ‘data puddles’ into a comprehensive ‘data lake’, informing decision making and enabling better CRM and client engagement.
The incoming Programme Manager will be mandated to deliver this change, managing a series of strategic Business Intelligence (BI) and data projects, delivering enterprise-level systems from start to implementation.
The role:
This is a great opportunity to join a growing specialist UK insurance company at a point where the business is aiming to improve its use of data and business intelligence.
The Programme Manager will engage and lead resources (internal and vendor) related to a series of projects (Architects, BA's, Developers) and deliver results based on the requirements of senior level stakeholders with a view to improved MIS, improved visibility, and better Business Intelligence (BI) functionality.
Remit and Responsibilities:
• Manage a portfolio of BI projects
• Deliver a series of large scale end to end dashboard projects
• Act as main POC/manage key stakeholders throughout
• Ensure delivery to agreed business/Client objectives, requirements, schedules, costs and quality objectives.
• Manage project deliverables and resources, ensuring timely and complete delivery by self, project team and 3rd party suppliers
• Co-ordinating and contributing to the production of requirements, assessments, designs and supporting documentation
• Support analysis and production of material for business cases for IT sponsored projects
• Chair project meetings and facilitate project workshops
The ideal candidate:
• Experience working as a Project Manager or Programme Manager working on enterprise level BI products and dashboards
• Extensive dashboard development delivery experience as a Project Manager
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to positively influence and challenge supportively and effectively where appropriate
• Experience of delivery with and managing 3rd party suppliers
• Experience of managing cross-functional delivery teams
