How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job description

Who are The Casey Group?

We’re an award‑winning, Manchester‑based, family‑owned construction business with a clear purpose at the heart of everything we do: Improving Lives.

At Casey, we don’t just build projects – we create places that help people live, work and thrive. Our passionate team is driven by making a genuine, positive difference, not only through the spaces we deliver but through the impact we leave behind in the communities we serve.

Our work goes beyond the built environment. We champion local employment, skills development and sustainable practices, creating opportunities and better futures along the way. From apprenticeships and training to supporting local charities and delivering safe, welcoming environments, people always come first.

If you want to be part of a business where purpose, people and quality truly matter – and where your work helps improve lives every day – you’ll feel at home at Casey.

Who are we looking for?

As our Senior Quantity Surveyor Risk & Compliance Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting and guiding our commercial teams across the business. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll provide clear contractual and commercial direction, helping teams make confident, informed decisions while ensuring our commercial procedures are consistently followed, strengthened and evolved.

You’ll be at the heart of risk management throughout the full project lifecycle – from early inception through to successful completion – proactively identifying, managing and mitigating risk to protect both the business and our projects. This is a highly influential role for someone who enjoys shaping best practice, adding real value and making a visible impact across a diverse construction portfolio.

The Detail

Leadership, Governance & Best Practice

* Act as a trusted commercial and contractual advisor across the business, promoting best practice, collaboration and continuous improvement.

* Own and evolve commercial procedures, templates and governance controls, ensuring compliance is clear, practical and embedded.

* Support Directors with contract approvals, highlighting key risks and providing clear, concise advice.

* Contribute to targeted training, briefings and high level risk reporting to support informed decision making.

Pre Construction & Tender Stage

* Review tenders and contract documentation, identifying key risks, opportunities and contractual obligations.

* Support pre construction teams by shaping risk mitigation strategies and contributing to risk and opportunity schedules.

* Assess design responsibilities, insurance, bonds and employer risk profiles to ensure commitments are achievable and understood.

* Attend tender meetings where required to ensure risks are clearly agreed before contract award.

Project Delivery & Post Award Support

* Provide ongoing contractual and commercial guidance throughout delivery, including change control, design liability, payment mechanisms and claims.

* Support project teams with contract notices, correspondence and evidence in line with NEC / JCT requirements.

* Assist with dispute avoidance and resolution by providing balanced, pragmatic advice.

Supply Chain, Commercial Control & Insurance

* Oversee subcontract procurement and approvals, ensuring risk is appropriately flowed down and governance standards are met.

* Ensure subcontract payment processes comply with legislation and internal controls.

* Participate in monthly CVR / MCR reviews, supporting consistent forecasting and reporting.

* Review project and corporate insurances, working closely with brokers to ensure contractual alignment and early risk awareness.

Essential Attributes

* Thorough understanding of the construction industry, financial reporting and contractual terms and conditions.

* Good analytical skills and ability to apply common sense in all situations.

* Leadership & negotiation Skills.

* People management and good communication skills.

* Commercial awareness.

* Proficient in Microsoft, Word, Excel and Outlook.

Desirable Attributes

* Degree / HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Law / Management or related discipline; or equivalent experience.

* Professional memberships / certifications (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB, CPD Records, etc).

What we offer you:

* Salary between £60,000 - £70,000 depending on experience and car Allowance of £4,500 per annum

* Pension Scheme - We contribute 2.5% more than the employee's pension contribution, up to a maximum of 7.5% (e.g. employee puts 5% in, Casey puts 7.5% in)

* Life Assurance/Death-in-Service benefit – Equivalent to 3x your salary

* 26 days holiday plus bank holidays (2-week shutdown at Christmas) – receive 1 extra day’s holiday for every year you work at Casey. Also the option to buy, sell or carry over up to 5 days holiday each year

* Hybrid / Flexible working

* Bupa Private Healthcare and Employee Assistance Programme – 24/7 access for employees and their families

* Tusker Car Scheme – Lease a fully-expensed car through this salary sacrifice scheme
