How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an exciting opportunity for an electrically qualified, multi-skilled engineer who enjoys variety, travelling to customer sites, solving technical problems and working on advanced automated equipment.

The Role

No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for engineers who enjoy problem-solving and working with the latest automation technology.

Key Responsibilities

* Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.

* Install, commission and test automated equipment.

* Respond to customer breakdowns and minimise downtime.

* Perform electrical fault finding using schematics and technical drawings.

* Support PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems.

* Complete service reports and maintenance documentation.

* Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.

* Build strong relationships with customers and provide first-class technical support.

* Travel throughout the UK, with occasional overnight stays where required.

About You

We're looking for an engineer who enjoys working in the field and thrives in a customer-facing environment.

You should have:

* Electrical engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent).

* A strong electrical bias with good mechanical knowledge.

* Experience working as a Field Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or Service Technician.

* Excellent fault-finding skills on electrical and electromechanical equipment.

* Experience with conveyors, automated warehousing, material handling systems, robotics, packaging machinery, manufacturing equipment or industrial automation would be highly advantageous.

* The ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.

* A full UK driving licence.

* A flexible approach to nationwide travel.

What's On Offer?

* Competitive salary.

* Paid overtime.

* Company vehicle.

* Company laptop and mobile phone.

* Pension scheme.

* Ongoing manufacturer and technical training.

* Career progression opportunities.

* Work with industry-leading automated warehouse technology.

* Join a growing, innovative engineering business with an excellent reputation.
